How One Small Study is Making Big Waves in Trauma Recovery

🎶 The Study

Between January and March 2025, we invited participants to take part in a three-month sound healing study at Project Positive Change. This wasn’t a clinical trial—it was a heart-centered exploration. We used Tibetan singing bowls, voice vibration, and guided meditations to hold space for each person’s healing journey.

Before and after each session, participants completed surveys and trauma symptom assessments (TSC-40), and shared reflections on how they were feeling emotionally.

✨ The Results Were Powerful

  • On average, trauma symptoms dropped by nearly 10 points, a 28.9% reduction across the group.
  • One participant experienced a remarkable 37-point drop—a 46.8% reduction in trauma-related distress.
  • Participants reported improved mood and reduced emotional tension after sessions.

💬 What They Felt

Pre- and post-session surveys revealed a consistent shift in emotional state:

Feeling% Change
Peacefulness+56.3%
Calmness+51.6%
Relaxation+61.3%
Anxiety−42.9%
Stress−50.0%
Fear−39.4%

“It was like my nervous system got a reset button. I left feeling lighter, clearer, and more hopeful.” —Participant

🕊️ Final Thought

This study was small—but the impact was deep. It reminded us that healing is possible. That trauma can shift. And that sometimes, the most powerful medicine is a vibration felt in the soul.
